PS3 iPhone Remote App
An iPhone app for a universal remote would be great, however there is no infared port on the iPhone, making this hard to do (but not impossible). There is always the work around of designing a peripheral to plug into the iPhone that would allow such an app, but nobody likes to buy extra toys in this economy. So why not an application that turns your iPhone into a remote for the Playstation3? The PS3 uses Bluetooth and so does the iPhone… sounds perfect. I’m not suggesting this for playing video games because the controller is already top notch, although it would be cool to try it out, i mean the phone has rumble. I’m talking more along the lines of the DVD / Bluray player that comes with the PS3. It would be cool to have the possibility of controlling the PS3 with the iPhone. So come on iPhone programmers, make me a PS3 remote app!

The iphone has bluetooth. The PS3 has bluetooth (PS3 controllers use bluetooth). It surely wouldn’t be that difficult to have an iphone app using bluetooth to act like the official Sony PS3 DVD remote. Would it?

I would imagine not. I just don’t understand why this app has not come out yet. I wonder if Sony has some sort of password lock on their PS3 that will only allow certain bluetooth devices to access it… I can’t think of any other reason people have jumped on this idea. There could be some cool things done (video streaming, apps, use PS3 controller to play games on iphone, etc.)

I notice most third party remotes for the PS3 come with a dongle. and the Sony one doesn’t.
What about a blue tooth to infrared adapter that can control any device. Better still all new equipment should have blue tooth built in.

BD Touch is free and available in the App Store but it only works on BD Touch enabled disks and through WiFi (As best as I can tell). It is not a remote. There is also an amazingly limited amount of BlueRay disks out there that it works with. We still need a BlueTooth remote app that works with the PS3.

Incase you are experiencing problems with your PS3 laser (or other part inside for that matter) and have to open it up, have a shot at the Console Toolkit. It’s a universal opening tool for ALL videogame consoles on and off the market. A plastic card showing what tool to use for each console is included. Please help if you can, I have a PSP 2001 I bought about a years ago with CFW PSP 2001 CFW 5.00 M33-6 with stock psp battery, I have 2 16Gig memory sticks one I have now found is a fake magic gate and one a real one both worked equally as well before. I have over the past year had no problems what so ever with it reading and playing games off the memory stick however, not all ISO’s or COS’s could be seen or played but, the ones that would play played with no problem.
